Heysham EDF Power Station Visit

On 27th June 2023, students visited the Heysham site which is unique to the EDF business, as it is their only location to have two operating nuclear power stations. Students were able to use the interactive systems to aid understanding on the processes behind commissioning and decommissioning of the nuclear power.

Students were able to talk to professionals about job roles, pathways,  the various sites across the world where EDF have sites.

Students talked to Engineers, architects, supply chain , financial administrators, customer services, data technicians and IT professionals.

This was an exciting opportunity for students to explore how their school subjects transferred into post 16 life choices.
