South Cumbria Pupil Referral Service
Primary Preventative Outreach Support from Newbridge House
Newbridge House currently provide outreach support for students in Key Stage 1 and 2. We have supported a number of primary schools in and around Barrow-in-Furness.
What does Outreach look like?
After a referral has been made, we will contact the school to have a conversation about the child in question and begin to build on the information that has been provided.
Support can also be available for referrals being made, the EHCP process and participations in meetings
The referral form for outreach support can be found here
‘We asked for outreach support last summer. The support we received was practical, helpful and acted upon’
M Banks – South Walney
‘All of the advice given was of great value and we were grateful for it. We implemented all suggestions.’
L Grayless – Victoria Infant School
‘From the initial telephone conversation, I felt listened to and supported. The difficulties and challenges we were experiencing were recognised and the impact these were having on the individual child, children in the class, support staff and teachers was recognised. The support was relevant, realistic and recognised limitations and how we felt.’
C Dennison – Black Coombe Junior School
‘When you are dealing with challenging behaviour it can be difficult to see a way to help but the conversions with PRU staff really helped to think more creatively about other things to try.
It was clear the PRU staff have a good understanding of how things are in a Primary School and what would be reasonable adjustments to make ‘
S Beach – Sacred Heart Primary School
