Six determined Year 11 students have successfully completed their Duke of Edinburgh (DofE) expedition through the stunning yet challenging terrain of the Lake District.

On day one, they hiked from the historic grounds of Muncaster Castle to the remote ruins of Hardknott Castle, navigating rugged fells and coping with the hot weather with resilience and teamwork. The team returned home at the end of day one and came back the next day to complete the second leg of their journey.

Day two saw them continue from Hardknott to the serene valley of Seathwaite, demonstrating strong navigation and campcraft skills in place of the expedition’s usual overnight stay.

In total, the team covered over 22km of travel. Their achievement marks a proud milestone in their DofE journey, filled with teamwork, growth, and unforgettable memories.
